The
Asheville
Regional
Airport was constructed between 1958 and 1960 at a cost of $2,200,000. It began operation in 1961 and serves
Western North Carolina. The airport is located at an elevation of 2161.7 feet in
Buncombe
County adjacent to I-26, approximately 10 miles south of the City of
Asheville and 8 miles north of
Hendersonville.
During the last 46 years, the
Asheville
Regional
